Day-wise Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Paro & Transfer to Thimphu
Scenic flight into Paro with stunning views of the Himalayas.
Warm welcome with a traditional ‘tashi khaddar’ at the airport.
Drive to Thimphu via Paro Valley and Chuzom, the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers.
Stop at Tachog Lhakhang and walk across the iron chain bridge.
Settle into the hotel in Thimphu.
Visit the National Memorial Chorten and Trashichhoedzong (fortress of the glorious religion).
Day 2: Explore Thimphu
Visit Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world.
Enjoy a scenic hike from Buddha Dordenma to Changangkha Lhakhang (1.5-hour walk).
Explore the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal.
Visit the Postal Museum to see Bhutan’s unique stamps and create personalized ones.
Tour the Textile Museum to learn about Bhutanese weaving traditions.
Visit Zilukha Nunnery and explore the lively Ka Ja Throm market.
Day 3: Drive to Punakha via Dochu-la Pass
Stop at Dochu-la Pass (3,088m) for panoramic mountain views and 108 chortens.
Continue to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan.
Visit Punakha Dzong, the Palace of Great Happiness.
Walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge over the Mo Chhu River.
Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility, via a scenic walk through rice fields
Day 4: Explore Punakha
Hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten (2-hour round trip).
Enjoy a riverside picnic lunch.
Visit Wangduephodrang Dzong, recently restored to its former glory.
Walk through Rinchengang village, known for its stone masonry tradition.
Day 5: Drive to Paro
Scenic drive from Punakha to Paro.
Visit Ta Dzong, now the National Museum, showcasing Bhutan’s heritage.
Walk down to Rinpung Dzong, renowned for its vibrant wall paintings.
Visit a traditional farmhouse for a glimpse of rural life, with opportunities to try archery.
Day 6: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched on a cliffside (~4-5 hours round trip).
Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.
Relax and explore Paro town in the evening.
Day 7: Depart Paro
Transfer to Paro Airport for your flight home with memories of Bhutan
